The summer I spent two weeks at the Bordallo Pinheiro factory in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, learning about ceramic and glass fabrication processes. I experimented with existing slip-cast forms, learning about the nature of the material in the process.
A process of trial and error. I first attempted to make a cabbage pitcher, keeping to Bordallo’s design language but made several mistakes and instead pivoted to create a series of smaller vessels.
